Candel Therapeutics and IDEA Pharma Form Partnership to Support CAN-2409 Commercialisation

Candel Therapeutics, Inc, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing biological immunotherapies for cancer treatment, has entered into a strategic commercial partnership with IDEA Pharma, a division of SAI MedPartners. IDEA, a biopharmaceutical strategy consultancy, will provide commercial guidance throughout the development and commercialisation of CAN-2409, Candel’s lead asset.
This collaboration follows positive Phase 3 results for CAN-2409 in intermediate-to-high risk, localised prostate cancer. The study showed a significant improvement in disease-free survival, with a 30% reduction in disease recurrence. Additionally, a notable increase in pathological complete response rates was observed in two-year post-treatment biopsies, with 80.4% in the CAN-2409 group compared to 63.6% in the placebo group.
IDEA will assist in shaping Candel’s commercial strategy and supporting key projects related to CAN-2409. Through this partnership, Candel will gain access to a team with extensive expertise in oncology commercialisation and market strategy.
The collaboration is expected to continue until 2026.
