Altasciences Expands North American Bioanalytical Laboratory Capacity
Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Altasciences is expanding its bioanalytical laboratory operations in North America to increase capacity and support faster drug development.
The expansion includes an additional 4,000 sq ft of laboratory space at the company’s facilities in the Greater Montreal area. The new space is expected to be fully operational by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
Altasciences is also starting the phased construction of a new 13,000 sq ft specialty laboratory in Harleysville, Pennsylvania. The first phase of the facility is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
The investments will increase the company’s capacity for late-stage clinical bioanalysis while providing pharmaceutical and biotechnology sponsors with greater flexibility and scalability. The expansion will also support increased automation and more consistent scientific operations across Altasciences’ facilities.
The additional laboratory capacity is intended to help meet growing demand for bioanalytical services and strengthen operational support for drug development programmes across North America.
