Altasciences and VoxCell BioInnovation Form Strategic Partnership to Support Preclinical Drug Development

Friday, August 01, 2025

Altasciences, a provider of integrated drug development services, has announced a strategic collaboration with VoxCell BioInnovation, a company specialising in 3D bioprinting and human-like tissue models. The partnership aims to strengthen preclinical research and accelerate the transition from early discovery to clinical trials.

By combining Altasciences’ early-phase drug development expertise with VoxCell’s advanced 3D bioprinted tissue platforms, the collaboration will provide a more predictive and human-relevant approach to preclinical testing. This integration is expected to reduce research timelines and improve the success rate of investigational therapies.

VoxCell’s proprietary technology creates high-resolution 3D tissues that replicate the complexity of human tumours and other biological structures. These models offer drug developers an enhanced tool to evaluate drug safety, toxicity, and effectiveness before progressing to animal or human testing.

Initially, the partnership will focus on drug screening in the area of eye-related conditions, with future plans to expand into additional therapeutic areas. The collaboration reflects both companies’ commitment to innovation and to improving early-stage research through more efficient, human-relevant testing systems.

The joint effort highlights a shared goal to modernise preclinical development and support better outcomes in drug discovery and patient care.
