Abzena is a Contract Design and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) focused on the development of complex biologics, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and bispecific antibodies. Successfully advancing these modalities into the clinic requires a comprehensive evaluation of efficacy, safety, and manufacturability, supported by the right in vitro assay strategy.
Robert J. Francis
Robert J. Francis PhD FRMS Biopic
Robert is a manager and microscopy lead within Bioassay, Abzena. Ever since his undergraduate and PhD, Robert has found microscopy fascinating. He enjoys finding new possibilities for use, particularly observing and quantifying dynamic events in live cells. Prior to Abzena, Robert gained microscopy expertise working in postdocs and microscopy core facilities in academia at the University of Surrey and University College London; in government in the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency; and has been awarded fellowship of the Royal Microscopical Society. Now using his expertise in microscopy at Abzena, Robert has led the integration of several microscopy offerings into the in vitro workflows for the testing of Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) and other complex biologics.
Kirsty McBain
